Every client really does matter to us. We understand that a new kitchen is often the biggest expenditure when renovating or building homes. We are committed to designing kitchens that are sensitive to our clients’ budgets but are both stylish and practical.
We develop close relationships with all our clients and appreciate the amount of trust they put in us. We support them every step of the way in making decisions and are very experienced in liaising and communicating with builders and architects to ensure every project runs smoothly.
We recognise that many of our clients lead very busy lives, and we are very happy to receive calls and come out for site meetings after hours or at weekends.

J D Kitchens and Joinery, owned and run by Johnny and Natalie Evans, designed and made my beautiful bespoke kitchen. Johnny and Natalie are passionate about what they do and it shows. As the designer, Natalie was patient, understanding and empathetic (maybe she should have been a nurse), and stayed objective and hugely enthusiastic throughout. She put herself in my apron, listened to what I needed and ran with it. She suggested ideas, thought incredibly carefully about the design and practicality of my kitchen, and didn’t bat an eyelid when I said for about the third time “I’ve changed my mind about the floor”. Johnny is a perfectionist. And my kitchen proves it. The paintwork is beautiful, and two years on, despite 3 kids and a dog crashing about in my new kitchen, there is not a sign of a chip. It looks as good as it did the day it was finished – which incidentally, was the day Johnny and Natalie said it would be finished. It is very elegant, yet extremely robust – no mean feat. It was always a pleasure working with Johnny and Natalie. The kind of people I wanted to have to dinner afterwards, in my gorgeous new kitchen of course.

From the moment that I first spoke to Natalie Evans of JD Kitchens I realized that this was going to be the company that would build my new kitchen. She just ‘got’ what I was trying to achieve – a contemporary kitchen in a period farmhouse. The attention to detail – from understanding how our family live and operate in the kitchen, to suggesting the best appliances for our budget and keeping within our budget. My contractors also found Johnnie very easy to work with. His instructions for works to be done before his arrival were clear, and nothing was too much trouble. We are the proud owner of a beautiful new kitchen, designed and installed by Natalie and Johnny of J D Kitchens and Joinery. Their professionalism and meticulous attention to detail set them way above other kitchen companies we had in to quote. Having Johnny in the house was so easy, and he left everything immaculate so we could carry on normal life in the evenings. They liaised with our builders, advised on flooring, lighting and paint colours, and their clever design and first class carpentry skills have given us a low-cost bespoke kitchen that looks a million dollars! We are absolutely thrilled with the result.

After being let down by another company, I was given the number of JDK by a friend. She spoke very highly of the company and the work they had done for her. I gave them a call and the service I got was first class. The whole process from beginning to end was, for me, effortless.
JDK arrived on the date and time we had agreed and the work was completed in the time frame specified by Johnny. The work done was to an extremely high standard and the end product was exactly what I had agreed to. The price was very competitive having compared the price with quotes from other companies.

Over the years we have bought a number of bespoke kitchens from well-known suppliers in London. When we moved to Dorset we wanted to try a local company and chose J D Kitchens & Joinery. It was definitely the right decision. Natalie and Johnny were very careful to ensure that the design and layout worked from both a practical and an aesthetic point of view. As a result, we now have a truly bespoke kitchen that not only looks beautiful but is the most user-friendly we’ve ever had. We also asked them to project manage the job for us, which included organising all of the external suppliers and trades to ensure that the kitchen was delivered on time and on budget, which it was. We gave JDK a very challenging brief: to design a kitchen that would blend seamlessly with our existing formal living and dining areas in a large, long open plan period barn. The joy of working with JDK Joinery is that they’re on your side. In the planning stages they go through every drawer and cupboard and clarify the difference between what you want and what you need. They have the ability to see your kitchen through your eyes and then intervene. And when the work starts it’s on time and exactly as promised. The result is simply stunning and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
